Traffic on Ind. 64 west of the Ind. 64/65 junction encounters new temporary traffic signals at the entrance of a coal loading facility under construction, in addition to flaggers further west of the site for paving work. A traffic study for the proposed loading facility calls for a widening of the westbound lane for a turn lane into the facility. Motorists made several calls Monday, complaining of being stuck in traffic for up to 40 minutes between the signals and the flaggers for paving. Many motorists are opting for detours on gravel county roads to avoid the congestion.
